Cheadle Lake Reenactment

Lebanon, Ore. May 18-19

The weather was threatening. The clouds lowered. Occasional mists interspersed with drizzle. Nonetheless, the event went very well. There was good music, good farkle (except for Capt. Janson) and a good time for all. And in the end the damp didn't dampen the spirits. Though Sunday morning dawned very wet indeed, by the time we were ready to pack up, the sun was shining and the canvas was dry.

Good training with the limber and the horses. There was much to learn and there is more to practice, but the training sessions went very well and were enjoyed by all as we get ready for and ever closer to the great Gettysburg Campaign.

Present for duty were:

Gun crew:

  • Capt. Ken Janson
  • 1st Sgt. Tom Phinney
  • Cpl. Jethro Holtzclaw
  • Pvt. John Kalayjian
  • Pvt. Jefferson Kuhn
  • Pvt. Jeff (Pigpen) Leecing
  • Pvt. Jerry Miller

Mess Sgt. Linda Kalayjian
Mrs. Lisa Leecing

Limber crew:

  • Sgt. Tom Maurer
  • Pvt. Joseph Hamer
  • Pvt. Megan Jongsma
